Dominic is an award-winning binder and restorer with work in many public and private collections. He has won over thirty prizes for his design bindings and restoration work, including both first prizes in the Designer Bookbinders Competition in 2007, and the first prize in the prestigious Sir Paul Getty International Competition in 2013. He is a Fellow of Designer Bookbinders and an accredited Arts Society lecturer.
Michael is a bookbinder and paper conservator. For many years he has been interested in the structure of early and medieval bindings. His research into bookbinding history led him recently to completing an MA in the History of the Book from London University.
Together we undertake all kinds of bookbinding work, from the restoration of antiquarian books and fine leather binding, to the creation of contemporary Design Binding.
We also teach workshops, at our bindery in Cheshire, across the UK for the Society of Bookbinders, and each summer at the San Francisco Center for the Book.
